In our social life, there comes many instances when we want to
share a particular message, image, video, document or link with many people and
selecting the contacts each time is laborious work. The best example is
festivals.
On every festival or special occasion to wish and greet
people we select all of them one by one. Here the concept of broadcast list
helps. You can send message to many people simultaneously that too in personal
message.
In a broadcast list, you can add up to 256 people and
whenever you send a message to that broadcast list, it is forwarded to all of
them.
You can create any number of broadcast list and add a
contact in any number of broadcast list but make sure the receiver has saved
your mobile number in his/her contacts because the broadcast list delivers
messages to only those contacts which has your mobile number. You must be
thinking it as a limit! Yes, it is a limit to stop spam but it also has benefit;
you can check who has saved your mobile number.

Now, I’m going to share how you can create a broadcast list.
1. Open
WhatsApp in your smartphone.
2. Open
the option menu by clicking on three verticals dots on top-right.
3. Click
on second option to create a new broadcast list.
4. A
list of all your WhatsApp contacts will be presented before you. Select all
those contacts you want to add in your broadcast list. Don’t worry, none of
your contacts will be informed about this action. You can also search for
contacts from search icon at top right.
5. Click
on the right button from bottom right.
6. Your
broadcast list is ready.
7. If
you want to create more than 1 broadcast list, I would suggest you to name
them.
8. To
change the name of the broadcast list, click on “dash receipt” to open
the information tab of the broadcast list. Here you can manipulate the
broadcast like changing number of members and renaming it. To edit the name
click on pen icon.
9. A
new window will open which will prompt you to enter the name of broadcast list.
After entering the name click on save.

Now whenever you wish to send message to
these receipts all you need is to send the message in broadcast list and it
